It sounds like you purchased the correct size, as this tends to happen when shoes are worn with stockings - the shoe tends to feel a bit loose. I would stick with the size 40 and perhaps you could wear an insole when wearing them with stockings. Love Melissa x

The 'floc' part of the shoe, like the gloss part of the shoe, needs very little maintenance. However there is a new version of the Lady Dragon that has just been put up on the website and will be available to purchase on October 24th. Does this happen to you with the heels or flats? All I can suggest is that you use an inner-sole or heel grip to help.

I've checked the image on the site with the shoes and feel it is accurate and certainly the colour of the shoe is the colour referred to as burgundy. Thanks for this fast delivery to France. I am very happy with my shoes, but a bit disappointed by the color of my pair of Making. They are not really burgundy or reddish to me (I know pictures could be deceiving). The color is more of a dark purple with shade of brown.
I know I could send them back... but from Europe, and I do like the model. I will keep them, and try to find shoes that are indeed burgundy.

i know it's probably not recommended but i swear by 'domestos' to clean all my melissas! my shoes are quite old and get a little stinky when worn- so all i do is use a toothbrush to spread a little domestos. leave a few minutes and then simply rinse with water under a running tap. after a good dry they are clean :)

I would say 80% of my Melissas are a size 38, though I've had to go up one size to 39 with some styles, namely those which are "closed"-style shoes. I went up to 39 with my Patchuli. Off the top of my head, I can't remember if the strap is removable, though it would look a little odd with the bit sticking up at the back where the strap threads through...

For example, for VW Mary Janes and Lady Dragon styles, I am my normal size, but for VW Three Straps Elevated, I went up one size. Also, width varies from style to style too. Best bet would be to buy a pair (or try a pair on at a Melissa stockist), and you could always return it for a different size or a store credit.

You could try "breaking" into them by wearing them at home with socks on, on carpet? (Not that Melissas have much "give".)Hope your experience doesn't turn you away from enjoying more pairs of Melissas!

Only thing is i'm disappointed at how painful my feet were after working around the city for an hour in my newly bought beautiful Ultragirl shoes. It's comfortable for short walks but not long. Would you consider putting in some sort of Felt materials on the inside so that there is less rubbing of my skin in the shoe?? It was my biggest concern before I bought the Ultragirl, but really liked the colour and feel in the shop, but now I'm regretting it, which makes me sad. Please reply.
